Brooklyn Faye Cook, 11, of North Vernon, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at her residence.
Born December 10, 2013, the loving daughter of Benjamin “Ben” and Sarah (Keener) Cook.
Brooklyn was a 5th grade student at the North Vernon Elementary School in North Vernon and played basketball at school. She also loved dancing at Shea Dance Studio, animals, feeding stray cats, being outdoors and swimming. Brooklyn was baptized at The Ridge in Columbus where she attended church.
Surviving with her parents, Ben and Sarah, are her brother, Jason Cook of North Vernon; grandparents, Robert and Andrea Keener, and Linda Banister, all of North Vernon; great-grandparents, Sandra Warner and Nohora Keener, both of North Vernon; aunts and uncles, Derek (Brittany) Keener, J.R. (Sara Wooley) Cook, and Josh (Autumn) Burkman, all of North Vernon; great-aunts and uncles, Stacy (Tiye) Goodman of Florida, Devon Everage of Charleston, South Carolina, Jerry Anderson and Debra McLaughlin, both of North Vernon, Chris (Nikki) Warner of Grove City, Ohio and Kent (Ronda) Jackson of Linton; and her cousins, Lauren and Carson Keener, Alex Cook, Xavier, Jocelyn, and Corbin Jahrries, Max and Bayla Burkman and Piper, Alexzander and Owen Wooley.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Cook and great-grandfather, David Allen Keener.
A funeral service for Brooklyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Hayden Cemetery in Hayden.
Memorials in honor of Brooklyn may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
