Carl Lee Neal

Carl Lee Neal, 86, of North Vernon passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.

Born October 9, 1931, in Woodbury, Tennessee, Mr. Neal was the son of the late, Henry Lee and Cyntha Elizabeth Davenport Neal. He married Esther Sweany on August 8, 1952 in Morgantown; she preceded him in death on October 4, 2005.

Mr. Neal was a lifelong farmer and had worked for the Jennings County Highway Department for ten years and Graham Creek Farms for ten years. Mr. Neal enjoyed farming.

He is survived by his sons, Billy (Melissa) Neal of Madison, Ronnie (Joyce) Neal, Carl H. “George” (Connie) Neal, James (Karen) White and Donnie (Geri) White all of North Vernon; daughters, Nancy (Richard) Young of Paris Crossing, and Kathy (Troy) French of North Vernon; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Neal was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter, Martha Diana Neal; grandson, Greg Caudill; great-grandson, Nicholas Lee Neal; brother, Houston “Biggin” Neal; sister, Eula Mai Neal Gannon Berkey; and half-brothers, Charles and Shine Neal.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with David Neal and Jerry Caudill officiating. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the National Kidney Foundation or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
