Carl Henry “George” Neal, 63, of North Vernon, passed away on 3:15 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Born January 18, 1957, in Seymour, he was the son of Carl Lee and Elizabeth Esther (Sweany) Neal. He married Connie Lacey on January 16, 1976 at the Rush Branch United Methodist Church in Jennings County; she survives.
Carl was a 1975 graduate of Jennings County High School and was a lifelong welder. He was a member of North Vernon Moose Lodge, Queensville Community Church in Queensville, and Clifty Creek Coon Hunters Club in Dupont. He enjoyed welding, fishing, coon hunting, trap shooting, and racing go carts.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Connie Neal of North Vernon; sons, Troy (Tosca) Neal of Butlerville, and Chad (Jess) Neal of North Vernon; daughter, Tenesa (George) Altepeter of Scipio; brothers, Billy (Melissa) Neal of Madison, Ronnie (Joyce) Neal, James (Karen) White and Donnie (Geri) White all of North Vernon; sisters, Nancy (Richard) Young of Paris Crossing, and Kathy (Troy) French of North Vernon; grandchildren, Tyler (Brittany) Neal, and Miranda Bowling both of Madison, Gunner Neal, and Lariah Neal both of Seymour, Teagen Neal of Butlerville, and Mackinsey Neal of North Vernon; great-grandchildren, Hunter Neal of Madison and Grayson Williams of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Martha Diane Neal and Ellen White.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Burial will be in the Rush Branch Cemetery in Jennings County.
