Charlene Dee (Long) Burton

Charlene Dee Burton, 60, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:33 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Norton King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

Born November 14, 1963, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Wilbur Allen and Patsy (Eador) Long.

Charlene graduated from Jennings County High School in 1982 and had attended Ivy Tech. She was a member of North Vernon Christian Church and enjoyed embroidery and Bible study.

She is survived by her mother, Patsy Long of North Vernon; sister in-law, Crystal Long; nephew, Brandon Long; and great nephew, Maddox Long.

She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, David Long.

A funeral service for Charlene will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery.

Memorial donations in honor of Charlene may be made through the funeral home to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
