Charles Robert Couchman

Charles Robert Couchman, 78, of North Vernon, passed away on August 19, 2021, in North Vernon.

Born April 16, 1943, in North Vernon, he was the son of the late Howard and Audra G. (Herr) Couchman. He married Janet S. Perry on July 24, 1975. She preceded him in death on March 28, 1997.

Charles graduated from North Vernon High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Military. He retired from Arvin’s and owned and operated a flea market and leather goods store. He loved flea markets, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his stepsons, John M. (Kim) Phelps and Timothy (Tammy) Phelps, both of North Vernon; brothers, Ronald Lee Couchman and Larry Couchman, both of North Vernon; grandchildren, Chas Perry and Charles Perry, both of Madison, and Josh Phelps, Shelby Phelps, Keshia Phelps, and Dylan Phelps, all of North Vernon; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; stepson, Charles Perry; and brother, John W. Couchman.

A private burial in Vernon Cemetery will be held for Charles. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted to the care of these arrangements.
