Charmella Dawn Ping, 63, of North Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at her residence.
Born May 24, 1961, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Wilma (Gibson) Lee and the late Clifford Lee. She married Gary Ping on June 30, 1979, in Columbus; he survives.
Charmella was a 1979 graduate of Columbus East High School in Columbus. She worked the assembly line for Cummins Engine Company for 23 years. Charmella enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.
Surviving with her husband, Gary; are her sons, Cory (Amanda) Ping of Muncie and Branson (Lauren) Ping of Seymour; daughters, Raedy Ping of Cincinnati, Ohio and Kylaina (Mike) Walker of New Albany; brother, Greg Lee of Brownstown; sisters, Carnita (Jim) McPherson of Madison and Christy Hilderbrand of Columbus; and grandchildren, Braylon, Scarlett and Coraline, all of New Albany, Wyatt and Whitley, both of Muncie, and Abram and Norah, both of Seymour.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The funeral for Charmella will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Damon Marling officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Charmella through the funeral home to a trust to be established for the grandchildren.
