Cody Allen Short

Cody Allen Short, 30, of North Vernon, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, in North Vernon.

Born October 5, 1990, in Seymour, he was the son of Sandra Coan and the late Ronald Short.

Cody was a 2008 graduate of Jennings County High School and was a member of Blacksmiths of Indiana. He enjoyed forging metal.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra (Vanessa Hale) Coan of Madison; brother, Chaz Coan of Franklin; sister, Destinie Young of North Vernon; stepbrothers, Dylan Hale of Lawrenceburg and Aaron Hale of Madison; stepsisters, Patience (Justin Deckard) Hale of Madison and Ceira Hale of Lawrenceburg; grandmothers, Brenda Coan (James) Downey and Mary Senior, both of North Vernon; aunt, Tina Warner of North Vernon; and uncles, Louis Coan of North Vernon and Charlie Coan of Seymour.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of life for Cody will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Burial will be at a later date in Dupont Cemetery in Dupont.

Memorials may be made in honor of Cody through the funeral home to expenses.
