Danny Richard Schiller, 69, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:46 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
Born October 18, 1951, in Scottsburg, he was the son of Gustave H. and Eliza Z. (Bellis) Schiller. He married Melody Kemp on October 24, 1981 in Commiskey; she survives.
Danny was a 1969 graduate of Jennings County High School and attended Ivy Tech Business School. He retired from Lighthouse Logistics and was the former owner of S&S Pallet in Butlerville and Banner Distribution Transportation. He was a founding member of the Jennings County Youth Foundation, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he served on the finance Committee and was a Sunday school teacher. He was a former member of Commiskey Baptist Church. Danny enjoyed playing and coaching softball, watching sports, especially the Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Cardinals.
Surviving with his wife, Melody are his sons, Bradley (Crystin) Schiller of Scipio, Devin Schiller and Damin Schiller, both of North Vernon; daughters, Kelly (Randall) Hatton of Commiskey and Katyna Schiller of Los Angeles, California; grandchild, Brittany (Tyler) Neal of Madison; and Hunter Neal of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Robert Schiller and sister, Betty Kidwell.
A funeral service for Danny will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Rev. Jon Beck and Bro. Ricky Persons officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Danny to help with expenses.
