Darren LaBraun Hampton

Darren LaBraun Hampton, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

Born October 6, 1967, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Josephine Kinnaman and the late Roosevelt Hampton. He married Gail Ann Misner on October 6, 2023, in Indianapolis; she preceded him in death on October 6, 2023.

Darren was a 1986 graduate of Pearl City High School in Oahu, Hawaii. He served in the United States Air Force. Darren worked as a truck driver for Piazza Produce in Indianapolis for 18 years before retiring in 2019 and had previously worked for Culligan Water for 17 years. He was a member of the United Negro Fund. Darren enjoyed traveling, especially flying, watching the Indianapolis Colts and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, LaBraun Hampton of Bloomington and Jaaden (Julia) Hampton of Indianapolis;  his daughters, Alexandra Jefferson, Michell (William) Bentley, Mariah Misner-Hampton, and Alicescia Hampton, all of Indianapolis, and Allie (Clayton) Gates of Seymour; his mother, Josephine Kinnaman of Indianapolis; brothers, Vince (Rose) Hampton Sr., and Frederick Hampton, both of Florida, and Rodney Hampton, Antoine Broner and Carlos Hampton, all of Indianapolis; sisters, Monica (Larry) Collins and Carolyn “Renee”  Broner, both of Indianapolis; girlfriend, Ashley Teague of Indianapolis; step-mother, Antoinette Hampton of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Daisy Bentley, August Bentley and Luca Hampton, all of Indianapolis; and an abundance of loving nephews and nieces.

 He was preceded in death by his father.

A funeral service for Darren will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. The burial will follow in Hayden Cemetery in Hayden.
