David Lee Barker

David Lee Barker, 59, of Commiskey, passed away at 5:05 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

Born June 14, 1963 in Columbus, he was the son of Earnest Lee Barker and Donna Jean Gordon. He graduated from Jennings County High School in 1981 and attended Indiana University and IUPUI for Electrical Engineering.

David was a member of Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing. He worked at MPP in Campbellsburg, IN and PMG in Columbus, IN. He enjoyed fishing, golf, traveling, attending the Madison Regatta, watching NASCAR and IU Basketball.

He is survived by a daughter - Kaylee (Justin) Lesnet of North Vernon; brother – Jonathan Andrew (Lisa) Barker of Commiskey; sisters – Ruth (Sherman) Thomas of Bedford and Donna Sue Barker of Florence, KY; and grandchild – Peyton Lesnet of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother – James Gordon Barker.

The Funeral for David will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing with Sherman Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Coffee Creek Christian Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Coffee Creek Christian Cemetery Fund.
