David Franklin “Frank” Mull, 81, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:42 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at his residence.
Born August 9, 1941, in Scottsburg, he was the devoted son of Charles and Hallie (Cass) Mull. He married Kylia Cheek on August 14, 1971, in Jamestown, Indiana; she survives.
Frank was a 1959 graduate of Scottsburg High School in Scottsburg. He was a farmer and a union carpenter in Indianapolis for ten years. He was a 50-year member of Tea Creek Baptist Church, a member of the National Rifle Association, and a former member of Deputy Masonic Lodge in Deputy and Indianapolis Carpenters Union. Frank enjoyed going to gun shows, flea markets, and pawn shops.
Surviving with his wife, Kylia, are sons, David (LeAnn) Mull and Matt (Lori) Mull, both of North Vernon; daughter, Karen (Alex) Warren of New Palestine; brothers, Ronald (Sue) Mull of North Vernon and Dale Mull of Sellersburg; sisters, Janet (Jerry) Mattox of Scottsburg, Judy Fleenor of Little York, and Cathy (John) Jennings of Salem; grandchildren, Isaac Mull, Hanna Mull, Jacob Mull, Lauren Mull, Cassidy Mull, Megan Mull, and Stone Mull, all of North Vernon, and Kailey (William) Tewell of New Palestine; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Miller and Dean Tewell, both of New Palestine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Johnny Mull and Charles Ervin Mull; and sister, Mildred Gardner.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Tea Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Elliott officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. The burial will follow in the Tea Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
