Diana Mary Bertrand, 79, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at her residence.
Born May 26, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Josephine (Pallazzolo) Wajda. She married Leo Bertrand on August 27,1989, in Polaski, Tennessee; he preceded her in death on May 11, 2001.
Diana was a 1964 graduate of St. Anthony Catholic School in Detroit, Michigan. She worked as a housekeeper for numerous locations before her retirement and was a certified Nurses Aide. Diana loved time with her grandchildren and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. She also enjoyed taking walks, going for scenic drives, sewing, and crocheting.
Survivors include her sons, Tony (Susan) Griffin of Gross Point Park, Michigan, Jim (Holly) Griffin of Troy, Michigan, and Joe Griffin of Kalamazoo, Michigan; her daughters, Tracy (Kevin) Campbell of North Vernon and Lisa (Pat) O’Sullivan of Joliet, Illinois; brother, George (Mary) Wajda of Tawas Bay, Michigan; and grandchildren, Jacob Griffin of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jonathan Griffin and Rachel Griffin, both of Gross Point Park, Michigan, Carl Griffin of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Evan Griffin of Troy, Michigan, Jordan Griffin, of Saginaw, Michigan, Ian Campbell, Josie Campbell and Sidney Campbell, all of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sister, Rose Picot.
A funeral service for Diana will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Madison with Rev. Larry Campbell officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Diane to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
