Donald Budd Chaille Sr.

Donald Budd Chaille Sr., 84, of North Vernon passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at his residence.

Born June 14, 1936 in North Vernon, he was the son of Roy and Madge Bowman Chaille. He married Sandra Olmstead in 1959; she preceded him in July 1992.

Donald served in the U.S. Air Force and was a self-employed contractor.  He was a member of the North Vernon Moose Lodge and Am Vet’s Post #7 in North Vernon. Donald enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include his sons, Scott Chaille and Don “Butch” (Debbie) Chaille, both of North Vernon; daughter, Debbie (Rick) Martin of North Vernon; companion, Berniece Campfield of North Vernon; brother, William (Kathy) Chaille of Melbourne, Florida; sister, Laura Chaille of Bedford; grandchildren, Shawn (Ashley) Martin, Andrea (Baron) Kent, Evan (Sierra) Chaille, and Ethan (Sydnee) Chaille, all of North Vernon, Josh (Blake) Martin of North Carolina, Kristie (Jason) Renschler of Hanover, Ryan (Brooke) Chaille of Trafalgar and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and granddaughter, Autumn Chaille.

Private services were held for Donald with burial in the Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in honor of Donald through the funeral home to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
