Donna Marie (Palmer) Holder

Donna Marie Holder, 64, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:51 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born September 23, 1958, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Alice Jean (Kuntz) Palmer. She married Keith Holder on July 12, 1982, in Vernon; he survives.

Donna graduated from Jennings County High School in 1976. She was a cab driver for several years. Donna worked for DSI for 3 years before she retired in 2011. She had previously worked for ResCare for two years, Erler’s Industries for six years and Plas Fin Co for three years. Donna loved animals, especially cats and dogs, and collecting bears.

Surviving with her husband, Keith, of 41 years are her brother, Joe (Patty) Palmer of North Vernon; sister, Deborah Jean Palmer of North Vernon; brothers-in-law, Denzil (Lorrie) Holder of Clarksville, Carlos (Janet) Holder of North Vernon; Harold “Doc” Holder of Hanover, Jeremy Holder of Kentucky, and Zelmer (Joann) Holder of Richmond; sisters-in-law, Debra ( Marvin) Bell of Atlanta, Georgia, Sandy (Gary) Clark of Ohio, and Joanie Roark of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Sherry Ricketts.

A funeral service for Donna will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Dan Corbin officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
