Doris Jane Vinson, 83, of Butlerville passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018, at her residence.
Born February 24, 1935, in Hayden, Mrs. Vinson was the daughter of Raymond and Ether Grimm Lawdermilt. She married William Vinson. He preceded her in death in 1966.
Mrs. Vinson worked as an attendant for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville retiring in 1998 after 29 years. She was a supporter of Mercy Rescue. Mrs. Vinson enjoyed mowing yards and she loved animals.
Mrs. Vinson is survived by her sons, Mike (Cathy) Hardwick of North Vernon, Jim Hardwick of Butlerville and Randy (Jill) Hardwick of North Vernon; grandchildren, Jeremy (Nicole) Hardwick of Boise, Idaho, Tanya (Shawn) Bauman of Columbus and Eric Hardwick of Butlerville and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Vinson, brothers, Joe, Wayne and Dale Lawdermilt; and sister, Lois Dodd.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 in the Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
