Dorothy C Bridges

Dorothy C. Bridges, 77, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at her residence.

Born September 6, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Paul and Martha Ann (Hill) Cook. She married Robert Bridges on January 12, 1981, in Clayton County, Georgia; he survives.

Dorothy was a 1964 graduate of Fayette County High School in Fayetteville, Georgia. She worked the assembly line for ComponX in North Vernon for 16 years before retiring in 2010. Dorothy was a member of Queensville Christian Church. She enjoyed selling at flea markets, cooking, crossword puzzle book, and family time. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving with her husband, Robert, are her sons, Stephen Palmer of Georgia, Denny (Michelle) Bridges of Lexington, Kentucky, and Bobby (Kimberly) Bridges of Leesville, Louisiana; daughters, Stephanie (Mark) Cloud and Robin (Brent) Caudill, both of North Vernon, and Tammy (Bill) Sowder of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; brothers, Charlie (Martha) Cook, Freddie Cook and David Cook, all of Newnan, Georgia; sister, Jan (Herschel) Duke of Winston, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tommy Cook; and sister, Gladys Cook.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Gerald Caudill officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Dorothy to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
