E. Louise (West) Miller Reichert

E. Louise West Miller Reichert, 87 of North Vernon, went to Heaven at 5:55 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus, surrounded by her family.

Born January 31, 1936, at home on High Street in North Vernon, to the late Roger F. and Edith (Edens) West. Louise had two wonderful husbands; Richard F. “Dick” Miller who she married in March of 1958 and passed away in January of 1993. She then married Henry “Chick” Reichert in January 2001 and passed away in October of 2009.

A member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the owner of Romano’s Pizza in Scipio from 1976 until 1981. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, and DIY projects. There was not a project Louise would not tackle, including helping build the home she resided in for over 50 years.

She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rick (Julie) Miller, Shawn (Vicky) Miller, both of North Vernon; her daughters, Cindy Taskey, Tina (Steve) Walker and Susan Miller, all of Columbus, Debbie Kubik of Denver, Colorado; son-in-law, Steve Cassé of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren, Shawn “Clint” Spencer, Greg Taskey, Derrick (Lindsay) Taskey, Michael (Winter) Miller, Zach (Keri) Miller, Weston Miller, Lyndsay (Jackson) Shepherd, and Kerry (Steve) Pietrasiewicz; and great-grandchildren, Nathanael Mace, Skylee Taskey, Myka Taskey and Nova Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; daughter, Cathy Cassé; and son-in-law, Scott Taskey

A funeral mass for Louise will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Vernon with Rev. Jerry Byrd officiating.  A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. prior to the visitation.  The visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Friday. A burial will follow the funeral mass on Friday in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Louise through the funeral home to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
