Eric Dean Burkman, 62, of Scipio, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Born October 28, 1956 in Seymour, he was the son of the late Robert Wayne and Anne Mae Kemp Burkman.
Mr. Burkman graduated from Jennings County High School in 1976. He worked as a machinist for Precise Mold of Columbus for 17 years before retiring in 2016. He had also worked for North Vernon Mold and Decatur Mold. He was a member of the Sandcreek Township Conservation Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Shawn (Amanda) Burkman of Queensville; daughter, Erin (Brian) Biehl of Scipio; sisters, Lori (David) Ammerman of Scipio and Jane (Mike) Riley Sr. of Columbus; and grandchildren, Izaliena Burkman, Eric Biehl, and Almea Biehl, all of Scipio, Aleric Burkman and Adalind Burkman, both of Queensville, Roland Henderson of Seymour, and Trey Henderson of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his fiancée, Linda Burns.
A celebration of life will be held for Mr. Burkman from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
