Erin Brooks Lee

Erin Brooks Lee, 43, of Shelbyville, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Indiana Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born February 4, 1981, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Larry Lee and the late Cindy (Strope) Lee.

Erin was a 1999 graduate of Jennings County High School and earned her associate degree as a Medical Assistant. She worked the front desk at Affinity Family Dental and had previously worked with her dad at Lee’s Ready Mix. Erin enjoyed her cat Chloe, spending time with her family and friends; she especially loved being with her niece Mylee.

Survivors include her father, Larry (Cindy) Lee of North Vernon; her significant other, Robert Brooks of Shelbyville; brother, Kevin Lee of North Vernon; sister, Rachael Lee of Columbus; stepbrother, Tamaris Anderson of Plainfield; grandmothers, Lois Lee of Columbus and Brenda Lee of Newport Beach, California; her niece, Mylee Miller of Columbus; several cousins; and Robert’s children, Robert Brooks III and Elizabeth Grace Brooks, both of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her mother; grandfathers, Lester Lee and John Strope; and grandmother, Virginia Strope.

A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Burial will be at a later date in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in honor of Erin through the funeral home to the Lupus Foundation of America.
