Eugene McIntosh, 87, of Paris Crossing, passed away at 11:55 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at his residence.
Born November 12, 1937, in Paris Crossing, he was the son of the late Willie and Josie McIntosh. He married Marie Joyce (Rayburn) Ferguson on November 17, 1978, in North Vernon; she survives.
Eugene attended Paris Crossing Schools and went to work for Reliance Electric as a set up operator, retiring in 1999 after 35 years. He attended Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing. Eugene enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, woodworking, fishing and crafts.
Surviving with his wife, Joyce; are sons, Roger (Sheila) McIntosh of Deputy, David (Glenna) Ferguson and Scott (Debbie) Ferguson, both of Texas; daughters, Tina Proffitt of Paris Crossing and Tammy (Randy) Lusk, of Seymour; brothers, Steve (Gail) McIntosh of Paris Crossing and Curt (Karen) McIntosh of Nashville; sister Wanda Sullivan of North Vernon; twenty grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Geraldine Sue (Stogdill) McIntosh on October 18, 1975; son, Todd McIntosh; daughters, Polly Jo Ferguson; brothers David and Jack McIntosh; sisters, Patty Kramer, Fran Bratcher, Henrietta Mettler, Birdie Adams, Ileen Wetzel, Judy Baker, and Edna Rockey; son-in-law, Brian Proffitt; and great-grandchildren, Arabella Jade and Lucas Ferguson.
A funeral service for Eugene will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Ronnie McKinney and Rev. Damon Marling officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will immediately follow in the Coffee Creek Christian Church Cemetery in Paris Crossing.
Memorials in honor of Eugene may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or Schneck Foundation Hospice.
