Frances Jeanette Maupin, 103, of Commiskey, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Autumn Trace Assisted Living in North Vernon.
Born March 23, 1922, in Paris, Indiana, she was the daughter of Mort and Mildred (Ray) Davis. Frances was a 1940 graduate of Paris Crossing High School. She married Harold “Hap” Maupin on May 29, 1954, in Vernon. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Frances was employed at Morgan Packing in Austin and worked 20 years at 1st National Bank (later becoming PNC). In 1945, she joined the North Vernon chapter #183 Eastern Star and was a member for 80 years. She was also a member of Psi Ota Psi and Coffee Creek Baptist church. She enjoyed traveling, doing seamstress work, and sitting on the porch watching birds while visiting with friends.
Survivors include son, Larry (Judy) Gray of Commiskey; and grandchild, Christopher Gray of Louisville, Ky, and several cousins. Frances was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and friends may visit from 10:30 until the time of service on Friday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Coffee Creek Baptist Church.
