Gracie (Goins) Arthur

Gracie Arthur, 71, of Seymour, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2022, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour surrounded by her family.

Gracie was born on July 9, 1950. She was the daughter of Beve and Dolly (Owens) Goins. She married Charles Arthur Sr.  on June 28, 1966, in Sunman. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2005.

Gracie worked as a CNA and she enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, and riding horses with her husband. Gracie especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons, Charles (Carol) Arthur Jr. of North Vernon, James (Cathy) Arthur of Mounds, Oklahoma, and Raymond (Tracy) Arthur of Versailles; daughters, Phyllis (Blake) Leffler of Seymour, Trish (Randy) Walters of Scipio, and Michelle (John) Stockelman of Seymour; brothers, William Goins, Lester Goins and Henry Goins; sisters, Rosie Bevis, Edith “Cook” Kirby and Susie Calhoun; 21 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Ernie, Berlin, Bobby, and Stanley Goins; and grandchildren, Jonathon Eldridge and Felicia Cochran.

A funeral service for Gracie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Craven Cemetery in Milan.

Memorials may be made in honor of Gracie through the funeral home for expenses.
