Gregory Todd Lucas

Gregory Todd Lucas, 47, of Elwood, formerly of North Vernon, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, in Elwood.

Born December 13, 1974, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of Roger Lucas and Janet (Cain) Wilson Galliher. He married Joyel Edwards; she survives.

Gregory was a 1993 graduate of Jennings County High School and worked as an electrician for Burtner Electric in Elwood. He had previously worked maintenance for North Vernon Water and Jennings County Water. Gregory coached girls’ softball for the Jennings County High School for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canning, gardening, and raising chickens and quail.

Surviving with his wife, Joyel; are his son, Layton Lucas of Elwood; his daughters, Kaylah (Scott) Bowman of North Vernon and Calli (Colton) Lucas of Columbus; his parents, Roger (Sherri) Lucas and Janet (Todd) Wilson Galliher, both of North Vernon; brothers, Gordie (Mickie) Lucas of Brownsburg and Rob (Angie) Wilson of North Vernon; sister, Amanda (Drew) Phillips of Brownstown and grandmother, Dorothy Cain of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bobbie Wilson.

A memorial service will be held for Gregory at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Kendall Wildey officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Gregory through the funeral home for expenses.
