Harold Colvin Obituary

Harold F. Colvin, 83, of Henryville, passed away at 7:57 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at his residence.

Born September 12, 1936, in Elsie, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Birdie Colvin. He married Mary (Tando) Colvin in North Vernon. She preceded him in death on December 25, 2004.

Harold was a 1954 graduate of Salyersville High School in Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and went on to work as an electrician for Golden Foundation for 41 years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Six Mile Masonic Lodge #412 in Hayden for 45 years and the American Legion in Henryville. He was also an honorary member of the Butlerville and Henryville Masonic Lodges. Harold enjoyed attending Lodge meetings, working, drinking coffee, visiting, watching the Cincinnati Reds baseball team, and listening to country music.

He is survived by his son, Scott Colvin of Seymour; daughters, Cherrie (Arland) Caffee of Henryville and Virginia Colvin of Seymour; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother; wife; son, David Colvin; daughter, Mary Colvin; and brother, Henry Colvin.

A funeral service with military rites will be held for Harold at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Rev. Steve Davidson officiating and members of Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F.W. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Masonic memorial service will be at 9:00 a.m. by members of Six Mile Masonic Lodge #412. Burial will be at in the Oakgrove Cemetery in Jennings County. 

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Hayden, Butlerville, or Henryville Masonic Lodges.
