Harriett Madge (Reagan) Schildknecht

Harriett Madge Schildknecht, 79, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at her residence.

Born September 29, 1945, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Katie (Hoffman) Reagan. She married Robert Wayne Schildknecht on January 12, 1965, in North Vernon; he preceded her in death on February 2, 2022. 

Harriett was a homemaker and housewife. She was a member of bowling leagues at the Eder’s Pro Bowl in North Vernon, Starlight Bowling League in Seymour and Ladies Matinee league at Columbus Bowling Center. Harriett enjoyed bowling, playing cards, working puzzles and gardening.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Karen) Schildknecht of Seymour and David (Tracy) Schildknecht of Scipio; her daughter, Michelle (David) DeCamp of North Vernon; brothers, William Reagan of Columbus and Harry Reagan of Lebanon; sister, Mary Jane Snow of Lebanon; grandchildren, Shi Schildknecht of Shelbyville, Matthew (Nikki) Schildknecht and Dillon (Tiffany) Schildknecht, both of Seymour, Judy Jones, Phillip (Bri) Jones, and Jessika (Tyler) Yonts, all of Columbus, Myah (Jacob) Borntreger of Walesboro, Ashly (Daniel) Davis, Abigail DeCamp, and Sarah DeCamp, all of North Vernon, and Lily (Brady Maschino) Schildknecht of Scipio; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Joe, Dick, and Max Reagan; and sisters, Kay and April Reagan.

In keeping with her and her family’s wishes, cremation is planned with no service to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor or Harriett through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
