Hattie Arlene Rothert, 97, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born January 2, 1928, in Jennings County, she was the daughter of the late, William and Dolly (Lawrence) Monday. She married Richard Thomas Rothert on October 26, 1950, in Jennings County; he preceded her in death on February 21, 2002.
Hattie was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She loved to go fishing, sewing, playing bingo and playing cards.
Survivors include her sons, Bobby Rothert and Richard (Holly) Rothert Jr., both of North Vernon; daughters, Linda (Tim) Cline of Deputy, Vickie (Charlie) Foga and Debbie Carman, both of North Vernon; brothers, Richard Monday, Bill Monday, Jerry Monday, and Kenneth Monday; sisters, Gloria Browning, and Linda Ross; grandchildren, Cheryl Ford, Mike Cline, Pamela Cline, Sabrina Ashmore, Autumn Wood, Joe Rothert, Brandi Hartwell, Roger Hartwell, and Heather Raby; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Denny Ray Rothert; great-granddaughter, Taylor Nicole Perry; brothers, Harold, and Jackie Monday; sisters, Judy Canary, Joann Combest, Virginia Lamb, and Martha Lacey.
A funeral service for Hattie will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Mike Hopper officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. The burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Hattie through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
