Ida Mae (Simmons) Kiewitt

Ida Mae Kiewitt, 80, of North Vernon; passed away at 2:24 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Keepsake Village of Columbus.

Born May 18, 1945, in Jennings County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Trapp) Simmons. Ida was a 1963 graduate of North Vernon High School.

Ida worked in mold machining for Sylvania in Seymour for ten years before retiring in 2007 and had previously worked for Rose Acres Farms for ten years. She volunteered as a pink lady for Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She was of the Apostolic Faith and attended the Sanctuary and was with the Parkside Choir, both in Columbus. Ida enjoyed singing, gardening, and dogs. She loved attending church, Bible studies at Parkside and Jesus.

Survivors include her children, Maria (Don) Danielson of Virginia, Chris (Kristi) Wiggins of Versailles, and Lianna (Frank) McKinney of North Vernon; sisters, Janet (Mike) Clerkin and Joyce (Dee) Pennycuff, both of North Vernon and Cheryl (Jimmy) McIntosh of Commiskey; grandchildren, Olivia Clark of North Vernon, Zacary  McKinney of Indianapolis, Luke Wiggins and Emma Wiggins, both of Lexington, Kentucky; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott Fuller; and brothers, Ermit, Emerson and Raymond Simmons.

A funeral service for Ida will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Austin Sizemore and Jimmy McIntosh officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Ida to the Alzheimer's Association.
