Iva Jean Glaziner, 87, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:46 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Born on July 21, 1932, in Piper City, Illinois, Iva Jean was the daughter of Johnny Lloyd and Iva Pearl (Kruz) Harlen. She married Melvin Harry “Bud” Glaziner on February 18, 1958 in Tell City; he preceded her in death on July 19, 2010.
Iva Jean graduated in 1951 in Rome and worked 42 years in housecleaning, she had also worked for ITT Thompson in North Vernon for two years and General Electric in Tell City for four years. She was a member of Queensville Community Church and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F.W. Iva Jean enjoyed country music, playing cards, shopping, and going to the gambling boats.
Iva Jean is survived by her sister, Elsie Gann of Otwell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Iva Pearl Harlen; husband, Melvin “Bud” Glaziner; daughter, Pammie Sue Glaziner; sisters, Kathleen Harlen and Maryanna Winchell.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, January 2, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
