Ivan E. Neal

Ivan was 82 when he passed on from a massive heart attack. He was originally from Westport where he was born and lived a long time before settling down in Paris Crossing with his surviving wife of almost ten years, Yvonne Oliphant Neal (55).

He also worked for Saps Bakery before learning how to frame houses which he then turned into a business until he was 50 years old. When he wasn’t working, he was a poker player, coon hunter, loved fishing, and anything to do with just being outside.

Surviving with his wife are his daughters, Penny Hargesheimer of Scottsburg, Melissa (Randy) Moore of Seymour, Bobbi (Steve) Kirby, Billie (Kevin) Moore, and Samantha Neal, all of North Vernon; and sons, Johnny (Alyssa) Neal, Chad Neal and Link Neal, all of North Vernon; 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Rebecca Neal; son, Robin Neal, daughters, Tammy and Deborah Neal, three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his aunts and uncles.

The funeral for Ivan will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in the Westport Cemetery.

He was loved dearly and will be forever missed. Memorials may be made through the funeral home for family expenses.
