Jackie Dale Hanner

Jackie Dale Hanner, 77, of Commiskey, passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born March 23, 1947, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late William Edward and Pauline (Wilkerson) Hanner. He married Bertha JoAnn (Lamb) Hanner on February 4, 2001 in Commiskey; she preceded him in death on December 23, 2018.

Jackie was a 1965 graduate of Brownstown High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He worked in maintenance at Ceraland in Columbus for several years and had also worked for Dunlap in Seymour. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

He is survived by his sons, Tim and Kevin Hanner, both of Freetown; daughter, Terri Jo McDole of Freetown; and brother, Don (Pearl) Hanner of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister, Rose Marie Boling; and his brother, Raymond Lee Hanner.

Visitation for Jackie will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with military rites by Matt Hester VFW Post #2021.

Memorial donations may be made in honor of Jackie through the funeral home to Matt Hester VFW Post #2021.
