Jacque Nadine (Watkins) Asher

Jacque Nadine Asher, 73, of North Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born September 11, 1949, in Coldwater City, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Dorothy (Pothoof) Watkins. She married Durham Asher on June 28, 1966, in Elkhart; he preceded her in death on April 23, 2013.

Jacque worked in quality control for Versatec in Crothersville making computer parts before she retired in 2014 after several years. She had previously worked in the warehouse for Grote in Madison for 12 years.  Jacque was a member of the First United Methodist Church in North Vernon. She enjoyed reading, sewing, making chemo caps, and donating to operation Christmas Child. Jacque also enjoyed spending time with family and holiday get togethers.

Survivors include her daughters, Nora (Stephanie) Binney of Indianapolis, Theresa (Jim) Griffin of Vevay and Dorothy (John) Clark of North Vernon; grandchildren, Brandon (Kaleigh) Luedeman and Bradley Mowery, both of North Vernon, Cory (Brittney) Luedeman, Nathaniel Griffin and Brooke Griffin, all of Madison, Jessica (Gary) Halcomb of Commiskey, Amanda (Christian) Wyatt of Seymour, Johnathon (Erikah) Choate of Muncie and Rebecca Choate of Indianapolis; and thirteen great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Anthony Asher; brothers, Kyle and Lawrence Watkins; sisters Lynn Stidham and Thalia Mack; granddaughter, Samantha Mowery-Griffin and great-granddaughter, Alesana Lynn-Marie Mowery.  

A funeral service for Jacque will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Terry Brammer officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery in Madison.

Memorials may be made in honor of Jacque through the funeral home to the Wounded Warrior Project.
