James Lowell Feaster Jr.

James Lowell Feaster Jr., 67, of North Vernon, passed away the morning of Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his residence in North Vernon.

Born January 23, 1959, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late James L. Feaster Sr. and Kathryn (Emerson) Feaster.

James was a 1977 graduate of Hancock County Schools and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for May Quart Transportation out of Yankton, South Dakota as a semi driver for 26 years, retiring in 1996. He also worked for Last Lap NASCAR Shop in North Vernon, Schilling Trucking, RC Cola, and Brooks Ketchup. He was a member of the Jennings County Senior Center in North Vernon. James enjoyed card games, bingo, and playing the lottery.

Surviving are his sons, Jason (Catherine) Feaster of North Vernon and Michael Feaster Sr. of Greensburg; daughters, Kimberly (Jon Shelton) Feaster of North Vernon, Christina Feaster of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Trena McCarty of Indianapolis; brother, John (Sandy) Feaster of North Vernon; sister, Pamela Coates of North Vernon; grandchildren, Chester Goodwin of Greensburg, James Goodwin of Greensburg, Dakotah Goodwin of Nebraska, Indiana, Michael James Feaster Jr., of Greensburg, Willow Rose Feaster of Greensburg, Vincent Feaster of North Vernon, Virginia Scott of North Vernon, and Trevon Hornsby of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; companion of many years, Sheila K. Heath; brothers, Jeff Feaster and Rick Feaster.

Military Funeral Honors and a closing prayer will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of James through the funeral home to Jennings County Senior Center.
