James Aurthur "Bulldog" Anderson Obituary

James Aurthur “Bulldog” Anderson, 69, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:07 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Born January 29, 1955, in Seymour, he was the son of the late James G. and Sarah J. (Cook) Anderson.

Bulldog was a 1974 graduate of Jennings County High School and worked as a custodian for Four Seasons in Columbus for 30 plus years before retiring. He enjoyed basketball, softball, drawing ships, football, mushroom hunting, and fishing. He loved grilling foods and was a grill master, and was interested in the Military.

Survivors include his son, Christian (Shannon) Anderson of North Vernon; brothers, Jerry (Trina Law) Anderson of North Vernon, and Paul Anderson of Gulf Port, Mississippi; sister, Deborah McLaughlin of North Vernon; grandchild, Maddie Sanders of North Vernon; step-grandchildren, Storm Philpot of Hayden, and Parker Philpot and Greyson Philpot, both of Greenwood; and step-great-grandchildren, Gordon (Rebecca) Philpot of Greenwood and Keisha Philpot of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and John Cook; and sister, Paula Bolden.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in the Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Bulldog through the funeral home for expenses.
