Janice “Jan” Kay (McNicholas) Hulse, 75, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Miller's Merry Manor in Hope.
Born January 2, 1949, in Seymour, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Thelma (Wieneke) McNicholas. She married David Hulse on October 19, 1974, at Crossroads Community Church in Jennings County; he survives.
Jan graduated from North Vernon High School in 1967. She worked at Hill's Department Store in Columbus, which is where she met her husband. She was a member of Petersville United Methodist Church. Jan loved painting, bird watching, nature, and working with her husband to play Santa and Mrs. Claus together.
She is survived by her husband; her brother, Ervin “Butch” McNicholas of North Vernon; nephew, Greg (Kathy) McNicholas of Scipio; and niece, Pam (Troy) Lovegrove of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Sherry McNicholas and Debbie Lynn Robbins.
A funeral service for Jan will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or to the donor’s choice of organization.
