Jerry Zeno Sharp

Jerry Zeno Sharp, 79, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at The Belmont Health and Rehabilitation in Columbus.

Born July 21, 1945, in Boswell, he was the son of the late Ralph Zeno and Scelda (Wooldridge) Sharp. He married Gail L. Pittman on May 22, 1965, at the First Baptist Church in North Vernon; she survives.

Jerry retired in 2012 after 45 years of Truck Driving and drove for the Jennings County Highway Department for eight years, Ryder Trucking, Triad Steel and Wal-Mart. Jerry received his one-million-mile pin. He was a member of Jennings Church of Christ. Jerry enjoyed fishing, yard work, camping and spending time with his family.

Surviving with his wife, Gail, is his son, Jeremy (Leslie) Sharp of Dupont; his daughter, Tonya S. (Kevin) Rogers of North Vernon; brothers, Albert Sharp, Amos (Charlene) Sharp and Paul (Carla) Sharp, all of North Vernon, Bill (Karen) Sharp of Kentucky and Marc (Cindy) Sharp of Tennessee; sister, Eva Vawter of North Vernon; grandchildren, Jeffery (Beth) Sharp of Columbus, A.J. (Chessler) Sharp of Scipio, Dennis (Anna) Webster of Madison and Daniel (Olivia) Webster of Milton, Kentucky; and great-grandchildren, Abel Sharp and Jasper Sharp, both of Scipio, and Bonnie Webster, Iris Webster, Dorian Webster and Ezra Webster, all of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Sharp; brother, Kenneth “Bud” Sharp; and sister, Barbara Godsey.

A funeral service for Jerry will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Jennings Church of Christ in North Vernon with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
