John Allen Whitcomb

John Allen Whitcomb, 26, of Indianapolis, formerly of North Vernon, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at his residence.

Born July 2, 1994, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Patricia Whitcomb and Russ Sipes.

John worked as a ground’s worker for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for one year. He attended North Methodist Church in Indianapolis and volunteered for the Peace Learning Center, Eagle Creek Park Location in Indianapolis. He enjoyed skateboarding, fishing, was a baseball player, and cooking. John was movie buff and enjoyed basketball statistics.

Surviving with his parents Trish Whitcomb and Russ Sipes, of Indianapolis, are his, grandparents, Patricia Whitcomb of Seymour, and Dale (David) Appleton of West Ossipee, New Hampshire; siblings by marriage, Russell (Donna) Sipes of Waldron, and Bonnie (Chris) Hovey of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edgar Whitcomb.

A graveside service for John will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2021, in the Hayden Cemetery in Hayden with Rev. John Whitcomb officiating. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
