Joyce Keith (Harris) Holder

Joyce Keith Holder, 87, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Joyce was born October 8, 1933, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, the daughter of Osby and Rova (McGowan) Harris. She married Lester Paul Holder on December 7, 1956 in Ringo, Georgia; he survives.

Joyce was a member of River of Life Assembly of God in North Vernon and volunteered for the Food Pantry. She enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing with her church family and taking care of elderly people.

Surviving with her husband of 64 years, Lester Holder, are her son, Gary (Rosalyn) Holder of Avon; grandchildren, Troy Holder of Greenwood and Trevor Holder of Hanover; great-grandchildren, Zakry Holder, Reece Holder, Lexie Holder, Brock Holder, Tyler Holder, Keith Holder, Trace Holder, Trip Mardello and Avalynn Holder; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Trent Holder; and brothers, Hugh and Gile Harris.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel and Cremation Service with the Rev. Garry Prange officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in honor of Joyce through the funeral home to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
