Judy Lee (Dillon) Collett

Judy Lee Collett, 52, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:21 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Born April 27, 1972, in Seymour, she was the daughter of the late John Dillon Sr. and Charlene (Patton) Grider. She married James Collett in February of 1996 in North Vernon; he survives.

Judy was a graduate of Jennings County High School. She was a housewife and homemaker, and a caregiver for her son. Judy had previously worked for DSI for three years. She enjoyed working puzzles, and traveling, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband, James, are her sons, Coty (Charity) Hicks of Pickaway, Ohio, and Brandon Strickland and Zachariah Collett, both of North Vernon; stepchildren, Gordon Collett and Amy Collett, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, John (Kara) Dillon Jr. and Josh Dillon, both of North Vernon; sister, Diana (Eric) Boardman of Florida; and thirteen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Tanya Dillon.

In keeping with her and her family’s wishes, cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Judy through the funeral home to help with expenses.
