Kathleen Louise (Struben) Kiser

Kathleen Louise Kiser, 95, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24,

2023, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born April 26, 1928, in Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Flora (Leinhoop) Struben. She married Herman Kiser on September 16, 1945; he preceded her in death on February 21, 1988.

Kathleen worked for ITT Thompson for several years and was member of New Bethel Methodist Church in Jennings County. She enjoyed baking oversize chocolate chip cookies and was affectionately known as “The Cookie Lady.”

She is survived by her daughters, Candice (Howard) Jones of North Vernon and Kim Kiser (Jerry Tackett) of Duluth, Georgia; grandchildren, Jeff Martin of Columbus, Ohio and Jason (Jenny) Martin of Cincinnati, Ohio; step grandson, David Jones of Portal, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Graham, Grady, Garrison and Grayer Martin of Cincinnati, Ohio; and close friend, Jane Bower of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob, Fred and Charles Struben; sister, Phyllis Utter; and close friend, Roxie Barber.

A graveside service for Kathleen will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted to the care of these arrangements.

Memorials may be made in honor of Kathleen through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc. or New Bethel Methodist Church.
