Kathryn Louise Huse

Kathryn Louise Huse, 93, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Majestic Care in North Vernon.

Kathryn was born December 31, 1927, in Muncie, the daughter of the late Lester and Louise (Dunnington) Winget. She married Virgil A. Huse on February 5, 1953, in Phenix City, Alabama; he preceded her in death.

Kathryn was a quiet lady who loved and served the Lord. She was a great seamstress and made sure everything had a place and was in its place.  She was a charter board member of Green Light Ministries in Elizabethtown and a member of Spirit of Life Church in North Vernon where she loved to help with the Sister’s Group, being a greeter, communion and anywhere she could find to help others. Kathryn was one of the first board members of the North Vernon Food Pantry.  She enjoyed gardening, listening to Christian music, and watching TV Evangelist.

Kathryn is survived by her sons, Rev. David Lee (Judy) Winget of Elizabethtown, James Allen (Gail) Peterson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Arthur Andrew Huse of Tennessee; grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.

Kathryn will be greatly missed as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, great step-grandmother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Kay Huse and Ellen Louise Huse; brother, James Winget; and two twin great-grandchildren.

 A funeral service for Kathryn will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon, with Rev. David Winget officiating. Family and friends may call at the cemetery from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow.

 Memorials may be made through the funeral home in Kathryn’s honor to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
