Kathryn Berniece Robbins, 87, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:27 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Born November 20, 1934, in Commiskey, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Mabel (Dart) Johnson. She married Louie Lee Robbins Sr. on February 19, 1954, in North Vernon; he preceded her in death on January 8, 2007.
Kathryn was a 1953 graduate of Marion High School and was a home health caregiver for 12 years before retiring in 2003. She was a member of Coffee Creek Christian Church. Kathryn enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, raising chickens, birdwatching, mowing, and working word search puzzles. She was “the best mother in the world.”
Survivors include her son, Louie Robbins Jr. of North Vernon; daughters, Peggy (Nick) French of North Vernon, Nancy (Jeff) Webster of Deputy and Carol (Mark) Bobb of Nabb; son-in-law, Alan D. Adams of Dupont; sisters, Ruth Holley and Bettie Wright, both of Commiskey; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Jackie Adams; brothers, Earl and Odis Johnson; sisters, Thelma Maschino and Evelyn Johnson; brothers in-law, Melvin Holley, John Wright, and Leroy Maschino; and sister-in-law, Wilma Johnson.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. A graveside service will follow the 1:00 p.m. dismissal in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Jennings County with the Rev. Dan Corbin officiating.
Memorials may be made in honor of Kathryn through the funeral home to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Association.
