Kathy June Houser, 62, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:57 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.
Born July 8, 1957, in Milan, the daughter of the late Mr. Summers and Rosemary Grigsby Adkins York. She married Luther Houser Jr., on December 2, 1982, in Seymour; he survives.
Kathy worked in Quality Control for N.V.I.C. in North Vernon for five years and had worked for Cummins Engine Company in Walesboro as a forklift trainer for 15 years. She was a member of V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and attended St. Paul Episcopal Church in Columbus. Kathy enjoyed photography, knitting, making quilts, nature and NASCAR.
Surviving with her husband Luther, are sons, Travis (Brandy) Houser of Columbus, Joseph L. (Shanell) Clayton of North Vernon and Todd A. Houser of Florida; brother, Ronnie (Ann) Adkins of Greensboro, North Carolina; stepbrothers, Keith (Lisa) York of Bloomington and Eric (Norma) York of Phelan, California; stepsisters, Jenieve York of Columbus and Mary Frances York of Lafayette; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Josie Rana Clayton, brothers, Matthew and Terry Adkins; stepfather, Garnett York Sr. and stepbrother, Garnett York Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. W. Sherman Beville officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 22, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
