Kelsey Burns Cowan

Kelsey Burns Cowan, 24, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020, at her residence.

Born June 13, 1996, in Lawrenceburg, she was the daughter of Kenny Royse Sr. and Sherry (Dickerson) Royse.

Kelsey was a graduate of Jennings County High School and attended I.U.P.U.C. in Columbus. She worked as a caregiver for TMS Care & Development in Dayton, Ohio. Kelsey enjoyed listening to music, swimming and spending time with her family.

Surviving with her parents, Sherry and Kenny Royse Sr., of North Vernon; are her fiancé, Abhishek Sharma of Dayton, Ohio; brother, Kenneth Royse II of North Vernon; sisters, Kaela Dickerson of Dayton, Ohio and Kyanne Royse of North Vernon; grandmother, Sharon (Ira) White of Scottsburg; aunts and uncles, Richard & Penny Royse, Jeff and Julie Royse, Jeff and Jeanie Lucas, and Lisa Royse, all of North Vernon, Bobbi and Steve Hensley of Scottsburg, Jason & Jodie Dickerson of Georgia and Bill and Rena Barrett of Milan; and niece, Gracie Dickerson of Dayton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roseanne Divine, Vernon Royse, and Fred and Lois Barrett and her uncle, Scott Royse.

A funeral service for Kelsey will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 8th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Sand Creek Elementary School for the Special Education Direct Care Program.
