Kenneth Micheal “Kenny” Everhart, 73, of Pekin, passed away at 4:51 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital in New Albany.
Born November 4, 1951, in North Vernon, he was the son of Bernard Raymond and Treva (Cowan) Everhart. He married Susan Hurt on March 1, 1996, in Danville, Illinois; she survives.
Kenny served in the United States Army. He worked as a farm equipment welder at Hi-Pro in Watseka, Illinois for ten years and had previously worked for North Vernon Forge. He was a former member of the North Vernon Eagles Club. Kenny enjoyed watching westerns.
Surviving with his wife, Susan, is his sons, Bobby Ray (Vickie Cooper) Hurt of Paxton, Illinois, Anthony Michael (Penny) Hurt of Rankin, Illinois, Charles Hurt and Robert Hurt, both of Pekin; daughter, Morgan Hurt of Danville, Illinois; sisters, Patsy Holland of Washington, Cindy (Steve) Long of North Vernon, and Roberta (Charlie) Montgomery of Seymour; grandchildren, Shawn Hurt of Rankin, Illinois, Josh Hurt, Brooke Hasbargen and Braxton Hurt, all of Hoopeston, Illinois and Michael Hurt of Paxton, Illinois; and great-grandchildren, Ace, Grayson and Tyson Hasbargen, all of Hoopeston, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernard and Dennis Everhart; and sisters, Karen, Virginia and Vickie Everhart.
A funeral service for Kenny will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon with military graveside honors by members of Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F.W.
Memorials in honor of Kenny may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
