Kenneth L. "Bud" Sharp

Kenneth L. “Bud” Sharp, 81, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:01 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Born October 9, 1938, in Somerset, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ralph and Sceleda (Wooldridge) Sharp. He married his first wife, Sara Ann Moore, on October 19, 1957; she preceded him in death on September 30, 1982. He married his second wife, Estelle (Fulkerson) Sharp on February 14, 2007 in Queensville; she survives.

Bud was a lifelong farmer that retired from Rose Acres after ten years. He had also worked for the Leo O’Mara Chicken Farm and for Triad Steel in North Vernon for twelve years. He was a member of the Queensville Community Church and enjoyed attending family get-togethers, feeding birds, and watching basketball.

He is survived by his second wife, Estelle Sharp; sons, Kenny (Teresa) Sharp, David (Donna) Sharp, Jeff Sharp, and Hugh Thomas, all of North Vernon, Joe (Wendy) Sharp of Westport, Curt (Mabel) Sharp and Kevin (Jessica) Sharp, both of Butlerville, and Darrel Sharp of Greenwood; daughters, Tina Sharp, Missy (Eric) Thomas, and Kim Thomas, all of Seymour; brothers, Amos (Charlene) Sharp, Albert Sharp, Jerry (Gail) Sharp, and Paul (Carla) Sharp, all of North Vernon, Mark (Cindy) Sharp of Tennessee, and Bill (Karen) Sharp of Kentucky; sister, Eva Vawter of North Vernon; and over one hundred grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sara Sharp; grandson, Seth Sharp; and sister, Barbara Godsey.

A funeral service for Bud will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer or to the American Heart Association.
