Kenneth Smith Obituary

Kenneth Richard Smith, 73, of North Vernon passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born April 28, 1944 in Nescopeck, Pennsylvania, Mr. Smith was the son of Walter and Pauline Kishbaugh Smith. He married Karen Pentland on September 30, 1967, at the Oak Grove Church in Oak Grove; she survives.

Mr. Smith worked for Continental Steel in Kokomo and was a truck driver for 26 years, his CB handle was “Dynamite”. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1969 and the National Guard from 1970-1971. Mr. Smith enjoys hunting, fishing, westerns on TV and listening to “Old Time Radio Classics.”

Surviving with his wife, Karen Smith are sons, William “Billy” Goss of Pennsylvania and Kyllie (Stacy) Smith of Indiana; daughter, Koryne (John A. Jr.) Ward of Indiana; sister, Terry Larish of Pennsylvania; sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Smith

A funeral service for Mr. Smith will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and Friends may call on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the funeral from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison with military graveside rites.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Recovery House in North Vernon.
