Kent McNorman Parks Jr., 73, of Nashville, passed away at 10:51 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
Born October 9, 1951, in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late Kent McNorman Parks Sr. and Effie (Sanders) Parks. He married Tina Baker on July 18, 1992, in Brownsburg; she survives.
Kent retired from the receiving line for SP Richards, a Division of Genuine Parts. He enjoyed going to Gatlinburg every year for the car shows and being in the Smokey Mountains, playing solitaire, watching Indy Cars and NASCAR.
Surviving with his wife, Tina; is his son, Zachary Parks of Boston, Massachusetts; daughters, Ashley (Matt) Fugate of Avon and Kayla (Kelly) Shaw of Speedway; brothers, Richard (Mary) Parks of Fishers and Paul (Linda) Parks of Clayton; and grandchildren, Noah Fugate and Brynleigh Fugate, both of Avon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Kent will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with his brother, Richard Parks officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. The burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Kent to the Brown County Humane Society.
