Kevin Dale Boyd

Kevin Dale Boyd, 63, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Majestic Care of North Vernon.

Born on April 30, 1961, in Seymour, he was the son of Dale Boyd and Patricia (James) Boyd Brandenburg.

Kevin served in the National Guard from 1979-1980. He worked in construction and on oil rigs in Texas. He was a member of the Worship Center in North Vernon. Kevin enjoyed carving and sculpting, artwork, painting crafts, and making walking canes out of sticks.

Survivors include his father, Dale Boyd of North Vernon; his mother, Patricia (James) Boyd Brandenburg of North Vernon; sisters, Karen (Steve) Thayer and Kathy (Bob) Hopkins, both of Scipio, and Kay (Bobby) Stearns of North Vernon; stepbrothers, Scott Coulter of Tennessee and Phil Brandenburg and Mark Brandenburg, both of Kentucky; stepsister, Rita Brandenburg of Kentucky; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kim Foist; step-father, Denny Brandenburg; step-mother, Janice Kay Boyd; stepbrothers, Troy Coulter and David Brandenburg; stepsister, Julie Coulter; and grandparents, Morris and Eileen James and Gladys and Floyd Boyd.

A graveside service for Kevin will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in the Bear Creek Baptist Cemetery in Jennings County with the Rev. Kevin Kline officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Kevin to Our Hospice of Jennings County or the Brain Injury Association of Indiana.
