Kevin Coryell Obituary

Kevin Scott Coryell, 58, of Seymour, passed away at 10:07 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

Born June 29, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, he was the son of the late Bruce Coffin and Lenora M. “Lee” (Gilmore) Coryell. He married Katrina Artis on June 26, 1992, in North Vernon; she survives.

Kevin was a 1985 graduate of Tennessee Temple, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, received his bachelor’s degree from Ivy Tech in Columbus, a master’s in business from Indiana Wesleyan and a master’s in project management from Southern New Hampshire University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1988-1989. He worked in quality control for Carlisle Brake & Friction in Bloomington for two years; Director of Quality for Optimus Solution in Columbus for three years and a quality manger in Jeffersonville. He was the founder and member of the Libertarian Party for Jennings County and attended Emmanuel Church in Seymour. Kevin enjoyed getting tattoo’s, shooting sports, cooking, adidas sneakers, hard rock and heavy metal, and was a fan of Japanese Culture and University of Kentucky. He was a healthy lifestyle and health and fitness activist, as well as a TikTok influencer.

Surviving with his wife, Katrina; are his sons, Kaleb Coryell of Bloomington, Kohl (Zoie) Coryell of Indianapolis, and Lance (Courtney) Short of Franklin; brothers, Ron (Rene) Coryell of Summerville, South Carolina, Michael Booth of Hixson, Tennessee, and John Booth of Landers, California; sister, Cynthia Thompson of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Booth.

In keeping with his and his family’s wishes, cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted with the care of these arrangements.

Memorials may be made in honor of Kevin through the funeral home the American Cancer Society for Leukemia Research.
