Larry Richard Grider, 67, of Commiskey, passed away at 2:16 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Majestic Health Care in North Vernon.
Born July 9, 1954, in Seymour, he was the son of Maurice and Edna (Cockerham) Grider. He married Josephine Ritchie on January 31, 1975, at Tea Creek Baptist Church in Jennings County; she survives.
Larry was a 1973 graduate of Jennings County High School and was a self-employed truck driver; he had also driven for MHart Trucking in Hope for one year. He was former member of Am Vets Post #7 and Eagles Lodge, both in North Vernon. He was a member of North Vernon Masonic Lodge #59. Larry enjoyed trap shooting, fishing, and hunting.
Surviving with his wife, Josephine, are his daughters, Rea Dawn Grider and Dana (Kenneth) Wilcox, both of North Vernon; brothers, Bill (Wilma) Grider and Joe (Charlene) Grider, both of North Vernon; grandchildren, Victoria Greer, Brittany (Adam) Stockelman, Brandon Richardson, Damion (Trinity) Patton, Anthony Wilcox, and Shenondoah Wilcox, all of North Vernon, and Tiffany Greer of Greensburg; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Bob Grider.
A closing prayer will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
